Get Free (31 May)

Posted by Rhonda

Several people have asked me about sharing some of the intimate details of my life. I decided that I would address this at this time. I have simply shared my testimony and that is where my focus has always been. It is my personal Faith walk. My Faith walk is what led me to where I am today. I am free of my past mistakes, my past decisions, my present (now) and my future…no worries. No matter what happens, I can look back and say God was there and therefore He is here now (presently) and He will be in the future. With that kind of assurance none of us have to worry. EC is my testimony and I am not ashamed to reveal my testimony. While I was in the process of writing EC I knew that it entailed me revealing some intimate details in my life. However, I can not tell my story without illustrating my spiritual transformation. I had to write that vision and I had to make it plain…sound familiar? We need to hear the truth in testimonies. We can no longer be vague and expect to make a difference. Yes, I could have told a story of some made up character who encountered some issues, some heart ache and some trouble and then God set her free. But tell me how effective that would have been. I am God’s child and I know that I am set apart from others in this way and my writing is not for me it is for the Glorification of the Lord, I humbly say, if my gift is writing, some say, then my gift is from God, of God and for God! My book is unto God and my thank you to God and a gift I give to others. Therefore, I am not concerned about the exposure. I am concerned about the greater good. None of us are exempt from struggles. We can not ignore the state we as Christians are in today, there are struggles on every hand, we see people taking their own lives, bound up by drugs, alcohol, affairs, unhappy, hurting, suffering, bound up because of past mistakes, past decisions, past baggage, confused, perplexed, etc. with seemingly no outlet…. Yet there is an outlet for every issue, ever situation, God is beautiful for situations. If my testimony, my story, my journey can help at least one person then it is worth sharing and for the greater good. The Bible says that in this life we all shall struggle. When we overcome our struggles, and we will always overcome our struggles, we have to only believe, we are to share it with others so we can win the world for Christ.

In the very beginning I did struggle at times, but each time God said press on, this is not about you, this is about ME! When you read EC, please, I ask of you, do not focus on me and my pain (we all have pain) but focus on GOD and how he took me from glory to glory to glory. I stand free today and that is the reason I am able to stand boldly and share my story. If you are not free then I can see your reservations, but I encourage you today, let God set you free and then you will understand why my testimony was like fire shut up in my bones. God can set you free from your past, your present and your tomorrow. I am no super woman or an extraordinarily strong woman; I am only God’s chosen vessel and only made it through by the touch of the Master’s Hand!

Get Under His Cover (6 May)

Posted by Rhonda

Remember when you were a child and how good it felt to get under your cover when you were cold, tired, sick or when you were afraid.  Your cover was your comfort, your protection, your warmth and your security.  When it seemed Mom and/or Dad were not being fair or didn’t understand or when your siblings were acting indifferent you would just bury your head under the cover and escape.  For some of us that cover protected us from the boogey man or the monster under the bed or in the closet, if you will.  Regardless of the situation, being under your cover made you feel safe, secure and protected.  Even now, it feels so good at the end of a long day, or even during the day when you get the opportunity to take a nap—to pull the cover over your head or up to your neck or however you like it and get under the cover.  Since I am a visual person, just take a moment and visually see where I am coming from. Visualize God covering you just like your blanket or your favorite comforter.  Close your eyes and imagine how it would feel to just get in your bed right now and get under the cover and rest.  Some of us are weary, not feeling well or just need that extra boost so that we can keep pressing forward.  Remember how good it felt back then when we were children?  If you are like me there is just something about getting under the cover.

Well consider this, when we get under our Father’s covering it is somewhat like getting under our personal cover,  he is our comforter and our security blanket and he will protect us and keep us safe.  However, God’s covering is unlike our bed covering because eventually we have to get from under the bed covers and go out in the world and do what we do in life, we have to leave those covers behind.  We neatly fold our covers up or prepare them for when we return, unable to take them with us.  The cover that our Father provides is permanent and we never have to leave it behind.  We can carry his covering with us everywhere we go.  Now, think how awesome it would be to feel his security, warmth and protection and have the utmost confidence that He has us covered every moment of the day.  God is standing with outstretched arms, patiently waiting to cover you.  So, get under His cover!
