Sometimes (14 Jun)
Posted by RhondaSometimes it seems as if it takes a long time for things to happen that you are anxious about, especially when we know the expected end. You know that God’s Word about it is Yes and Amen. We have already received our confirmation but the wait seems endless. We try to be patient, but it seems as if it is taking forever. We ask, “When God When?” Often in my life as I prayed about certain things I have felt so anxious, even impatient at times. Sometimes to the point of saying, “Will this thing ever happen?” Other times asking, “Did I hear God clearly”? “Did I get my signals crossed”? Then I began to doubt and question what I thought I knew. At other times I tried to work it out myself and just got in God’s way. It is hard to be patient and wait, especially in today’s world filled with instant gratifications. However, we must always remember that God’s timing is perfect.
I remember as a young girl listening to the Saints say when you know that you know that you know that you know (proceeded with a head shake from right to left or left to right.) At the time I had no idea what in the world they were talking about. It really didn’t seem to make any sense. I just knew that they really believed what they were saying. But now I know and can relate to what they were saying. I know that I know that I know that I know (head shake) that God is in control. I know that I know that I know that I know (head shake) He will do just what He said. I know that I know that I know that I know (head shake) He may not come when you want, but He is right on time. I know that I know that I know that I Know (head shake) He is all knowing. So, instead of doubting and/or being anxious and getting in God’s way we need to wait patiently and realize that everything is in God’s timing. God’s timing can not be anything but perfect because He is perfect. God only allows us to see a small piece of the picture but He sees the entire picture from the beginning to the end. We need to get to the point where we patiently wait on Him. We need to get to the point where we do not want anything to happen outside of His timing. When we know that we know that we know that we know (head shake) we can rejoice in the expectation until God’s perfect timing is “In the Now.” Therefore, the expectation makes the wait joyful. A delay is not a denial it is a, it’s not time My Child or you are not ready My Child or I am preparing you My Child.” If you are waiting on God for anything wait patiently and He will bring you to that expected end. He knows the plans He has for us and timing is part of that plan and His plan is perfect.

How many times I have asked God When father When? I have lost count. It is especially hard when I find myself getting anxious and weary in the waiting. The Lord reminds me not to put my confidence in the flesh, people are not perfect and will fail. So true that God’s timing is perfect and he is all knowing he looks at our hearts. When I dwell on his word, I am encouraged to keep my eyes on him. My prayer is Lord teach me to wait with joyful expectation.Because as you said , we already know the expected end.
June 19th, 2009 at 7:39 amKaren, whether we wait anxiously or wearily is up to the individual, as long as we do not try to take matters in our own hands, nevertheless, it is still waiting. Waiting demonstrates Faithfulness. God did not tell us exactly how to wait, He only tells us to wait. His Word says, Wait on the Lord and be of good courage. His desire for us is that we wait patiently and be joyful while we wait, yes, so He tells us that we must keep our minds and our focus on Him and not on the circumstances around us. How we wait is our choice. We must choose to do what His Word tells us to do. His Word tells us to rejoice in all things, His Word tells us to believe in Him and not in what we see. If we look at what we see with the natural eyes then we will be anxious and weary while we wait, but if we do what God tells us to do and look at our circumstances with spiritual eyes then we will see God and when we see God, we see our Victory already won, long before our circumstance change. Therefore, we see past our circumstances and we focus on the Victory before the Victory is manifested. It is totally up to us how we wait. The main thing is that we WAIT! Let us all wait with joyful expectation because we know that all things are working for our good!
June 20th, 2009 at 6:04 pmThis blessed my heart as I read. Thank you and be blessed. Waiting, if we could just learn that waiting is not a bad thing. And remember, a day to God is like a 1,000 years. Of course we don’t want to wait that long, but I agree, I want His best and that comes with when He decides to do it.

Hi Michelle, waiting is very hard. But we know that all good things come to those who wait. Remember that also when we wait that God is working everything out and that God is beautiful for every situation in our life. If we wait and wait patiently we will see the beauty in ALL things. If we get impatient, the wait will be very hard and distrubing, but nevertheless we will wait….so why not wait patiently and trust and believe in God and His word, “Those who wait on the Lord, will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings as eagle, they will run and not faint…..Be blessed and thanks for your comment.
